Lafeyette Square Park House Exterior Renovation

The exterior renovation of this historic building located in the heart of Lafayette Square Neighborhood was especially difficult. The task was to take old black and white historic photographs and recreate the exterior façade of the building. This work included a new slate roof, new copper gutters, downspouts, and flashings. With installing the new “porthole” windows we were actually able to open up the interior walls and find the original openings. We had the windows custom made. After installation of the windows were complete, we then wrapped them in copper flashing and added the wood filigrees. New cresting was also completed around the roof line. Even though this was an exterior renovation, much of the interior structural framing had to be replaced do to rot from years of neglect. What made this project even more special is that it was a winner of the 2006 most enhanced buildings award from Landmark.
