Clark Elementary School Addition
This project consisted of an 8,000 SF masonry back up and brick veneer structure, with steel trusses and a nailable roof deck. The building was an addition to the Clark Elementary School, serving as a new multi-purpose room with two additional bathrooms, storage and office space. In addition, the existing school required the conversion of the existing gymnasium space into a new library area with a computer lab. Differing elevations within the existing school had to be adapted to provide ADA accessibility. This was accomplished through modifications incorporating ramps and a retrofit chair lift. The goal was to fast track the project and start in the summer to get the site work and the main structural elements completed. The intent was to minimize the impact on the everyday operations and maintain a safe environment for the children once school started. The project was completed on time while allowing the school to function normally during the entire process.
