Kerr Foundation

This project was an addition of solar panels, awning, and wind turbine to an existing LEED Platinum building, The Kerr Foundation.  RG Ross was called in after creating a design build team once being interviewed by the owner’s representative.  We selected Core 10 Architects.  Solar panels were used on an aluminum frame to provide a canopy for protection from the weather.  As you can see from the close up pictures, the new solar panels are ultra slim and translucent.  A wind turbine was installed above the stair tower going to the roof deck along with another canopy.  A fabric awning system to provide shelter from the sun when standing on the roof deck was also added.  Both the wind turbine and the solar panel awnings are tied back into the battery system to help feed the grid.
